Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, established under provisions of the Energy Conservation Act 2001, to promote efficient use of energy and its conservation. Applications are invited for following posts (from Indian Nationals) in Bureau of Energy Efficiency on deputation/short term contract for a period od three years, which can be extended to five years.

Assistant Energy Economist

(Number of Vacancies: Two). Job Description: Undertake policy research and formulate policies and programmes for efficient use of energy and its conservation, strengthen energy auditing / energy management capabilities in the country, assist in implementation of energy efficiency programmes, benchmark energy consumption in industry a power generation, transmission & distribution, promote energy efficient technologies, Design and Implement Demand Side Management, Design and Implement Standard & Labelling Programme for Appliances, assist in preparation of Energy Conservation Building Codes (ECBC) and co-ordinate with State Authorities in implementation, promote awareness and implement programmes for school children, develop performance contract and promote Energy Service Companys (ESCOs), develop innovative financial mechanism for adoption of Energy Efficiency in Industries and Commerce. Educational & Other Qualifications: Essentials: A Master's Degree in Physics/Chemistry or Economics / Applied Economics/Energy Planning & Economics or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. Experience: A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in Research / Development / Design / Planning / Academic / Industries / Institutes / Organisations dealing with Energy Efficiency or its Conservation, and energy auditing and other related areas. Desirable: A Doctoral Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Energy Planning & Economics or equivalent or a Master's Degree in Engineering. Research experience of two years and / or research publications of high standard published in referred journals, an over-all perspective of National Energy Problems and policies with thrust on Energy Efficiency and i9ts Conservation. Scale of Pay: Rs 12000-375-16500. Dearness Allowances (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA) etc. as per Central Government rules. Place of Posting: Selected candidate would be posted in New Delhi. They can however, be posted any where in India.

Finance and Accounts Officer

Category: Accounting

(Number of Vacancies: One). Educational & Other Qualifications: Candidates holding Degree from a recognized University / institution or equivalent. Experience: Candidate should possess minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory capacity of Cash, Finance and Accounts, Budget Work, Commercial Accounting in Government Department / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies / Academic Institution etc of repute. The candidate should have sound knowledge of Government Rules and Regulations, Commercial Accounts. Desirable: Membership of the ICA/ICWA/CSI or belonging to an organized Accounts Service of the Central Government. Candidates should also have sound knowledge of commercial acconts. Scale of Pay: Rs 7450-225-11500 Dearness allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA) etc as per Central Government Rules. Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on 1st Jnauary, 2007, relaxible by 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates for both the post. Place of Posting: Selected candidate would be posted in New Delhi. They can however, be posted any where in India.
