Centre for European Studies: Associate Professor in European Studies
MA in Sociology with specialization in European Social Systems/Sociological Theory/Comparative Sociology/Social Anthropology. The incumbent will be expected to teach and supervise research on contemporary European Society, Social trends and issues OR Master's degree in Law with specializaiton in European Law and Legal System. The incumbent will be expected to teach and supervise research on European law and the European legal system.
School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies Centre for English Studies: Assistant Professor
Associate Professor in English: PhD in English with proven interest in Indian knowledge systems/aesthetics or in Culture Studies, including gender, media, and performance studies.
Centre for Russian Studies: Associate Professor in Russaian
MA and PhD in Russian with specialization in Russian Language/Literature/Translation.
General: The University reserves the right to: (a) Offer the post at a level lower than that advertised, depending upon the qualifications, experience and performance of the candidate, relax any of the requirements: (b) draw up a panel against the possible vacancies expected during the year (c) consider the applications received after the last date (d) consider "in-absentia" the candidature of those who may not have applied, may have applied but are not able to appear for the interview (e) relax any of the qualifications/experience at its discretion, and (f) not to fill up any of the advertised positions. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitile candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates, the University, at its discretion, may restict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications/experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
