Child Protection Specialist - New Delhi

Under the guidance of the Chief of Child Protection Section, responsible for technical advice to Government counterparts at national level and to the field offices and state governments in the planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and initiatives in the area of child protection, aimed at establishing a protective environment for children. One of the main focuses of the work will be to support implementation of the Integrated Child Protection Scheme and enforcement of the Juvenile Justice Act, as well as identify new initiatives to address harmful social norms that violate the rights of children in India. Qualifications and Experience: Advanced university degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Law, International Development, Public Administration, International Relations or other fields related to the work of UNICEF. Minimum Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in social development, including in the area of child protection, project management, monitoring and evaluation. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local language of the duty station an asset.
