Young Lives

The University of Oxford wishes to appoint a Director to take overall responsibility for the Young Lives initiative in India. Young Lives is a major international, longitudinal study investigating the changing nature of childhood poverty in order to inform policy and practice. Young Lives is core-funded by DFID and works collaborative) with multiple program partners (see www.younglives.org.uk for more details).

The successful applicant will have a doctorate in a social science discipline and a credible record in research, leadership and high-level representation. Applicants must have in-depth understanding of the policy environment in India and of issues relating to child poverty (e.g. education, health & nutrition, child labor and social protection). The position could be based in Delhi or Hyderabad. The University of Oxford will consider applications from candidates interested in working either part-time or full-time. The appointment will be made on a long-term consultancy basis. Compensation offered is attractive.
