Emergency Specialist

The incumbent will be responsible for providing expert technical advice through monitoring of emergency threats and effectively responding to emergency situations as per UNICEF's mission and mandate, identification and formulation of project/donor proposals, follow up on emergency and disaster risk reduction programmes' implementation, monitoring and evaluation of emergency programmes, liaison with the government, UN and NGO partners in disaster risk reduction. The incumbent will also be assisting UNICEF India country office and state offices in the emergency preparedness and response programmes. Minimum Requirements: Advanced university degree in development studies, social sciences or a related field. Five years of progressively responsible experience in programme formulation, planning, management and evaluation, some of which is in the management of full-blown emergencies. Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of the language of the duty station will be an asset. Programme Specialist (District Support)

The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical advice to government counterparts as well as support in the provision of technical advisory services to the state offices, lead capacity building initiatives in districts with high Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), monitor and support UNICEF supported district initiatives, collect and share knowledge highlighting best practices and pro-actively problem-solving at district / state / national level thereby effectively contributing to attainment of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the most difficult districts in India. Minimum Requirements: Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international relations, public health, education, or other related field. Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in social development, project administration, monitoring and evaluation. Fluency in English is essential. Procurement Officer (Analyst)
