Advertisement No EREC/01/2006. Earthquake Risk Evaluation Center (EREC), India Metrological Department (MD) has taken up studies for Seismic Microzonation of NCT, Delhi. In this context Geological Map of NCT Delhi on 1:10000 scale is being generated. At the instance of EREC, Geological Survey of India (GSI) is conducting field and laboratory studies for Geological Mapping on 1:10000 Scale. EREC, IMD is inviting application for Research Associate (Geology) to work under the project of Geological mapping and assist in field survey and laboratory studies to accomplish the task of Geological Mapping.

Nature and period of appointment: Temporary for a period of one year. Scale of pay: Fixed Rs 12000/pm + permissible House Rent Allowance. Qualification and experience: Essential: MSc/MTech (Geology/ Applied Geology) with training experience in field geology. The candidates with knowledge of Quaternary Geological mapping and remote sensing application would be preferred. Desirable: PhD in Geology OR MPhil with one year experience in geological mapping OR Diploma in remote sensing and photogeology.
